ATB Group has been chosen by Strabag, Austrian general contractor, for the manufacture of S690QL grade steel penstocks - a high-strength steel with a high probability of cold cracking - of the Alto Maipo project in Chile. The hydroelectric plant, 50 kilometres from Santiago de Chile, will be able to meet a large part of the country's energy demand once completed.
