It was erected among the reliefs of Benevento and christened, shortly before being connected to the network, by the snow of December. Seventy-two meters high at the hub and a rotor diameter of 54: these are the technical characteristics that distinguish the new ATB 850.54 installed in recent weeks on a site in the municipality of Molinara, in the province of Benevento.
The installation of the 850 kW wind turbine, the first of this power produced by ATB Riva Calzoni, began at the end of November. At the beginning of December the machine was already connected to the national electricity grid.
"We think that this turbine can produce about two million kWh per year; we are in one of the areas highly suited to the production of wind energy, with very favourable wind indices" explains Marco Corsetti, head of the ATB Riva Calzoni Wind Division -. The ATB 850kW is one of the leading products on which the company has decided to focus for the next few years. Now we are waiting for the new law on renewable energy that has finally resumed its process towards approval".
In the meantime, in Molinara, the staff of the renewable division of ATB Group has finalized the commissioning activities of the turbine and the entrance into operation.
