The activities of ATB Riva Calzoni have officially started at the HPP2 site in Northern Uganda. For the past two years, on the site, in the Pader district, Pac Spa has been working on the construction of a new 42-megawatt hydroelectric power plant, one of five that the client, Arpe LTD, plans to build along the Achwa River, one in a cascade of five power stations planned by Arpe LTD on the Achwa River.
ATB Riva Calzoni is responsible for the design, production, transport and installation of the hydromechanical equipment of the plant. The supply includes sliding gates, trashracks, stoplogs and accessories. All the hydromechanical components were produced in the Roncadelle workshop, in Italy, and in Medellin, Colombia.
"In order to operate in Uganda we had to open a branch that will take care of the assembly part up until the summer of 2018 - explains Giuliano Garavelli, project manager for ATBRC, currently in Achwa to set up the site -. The team is made up of about thirty people: Italian expatriates, some colleagues from our Colombian branch and local staff ".
The company, in addition to supplying all the ranges of hydro equipment, also assisted the customer in studying the functional plant definition, the installation of controls devices, hydraulic and electrical parts to be carried out directly on site.
