The fabrication of the four hydroprocessing reactors for the Ulsan refinery in South Korea will begin in the first days of March. In mid-November ATB Riva Calzoni signed a new contract with SK Energy for the supply of the oil and gas equipment made of V modified steel, will have a total weight of 2,600 tons.
The Ulsan plant, one of the largest in the world, today has a production capacity of 840.000 barrels per day. The new investment of the property aims to raise this daily average of 40.000 units.
Furthermore, the upgrade will improve the quality of the fuel, used for maritime transport, reducing the amount of sulfur contained in it and reducing its environmental impact.
"The customer has preferred us to our Asians competitors - explained Salvatore Poddighe, commercial director Oil and Gas, at the end of the kick off meeting in recent days with SK Energy.
The meeting with the end user, which was attended by the SK Innovation team involved in engineering, a representative of the construction companies Sk Engineering and Costruction and Sangipil Moon, the director of the project, served to confirm the contractual commitments.
The delivery of the four reactors is scheduled for April 2019.
