ATB Riva Calzoni signed a contract with the Dutch company Zeeland Refinery BV to supply a hydrotreating reactor, destined to their Vlissingen Refinery plant, located in the southwest of the Netherlands.
The oil and gas equipment, made of V modified steel, weighs 570 tons on a total length of 30 meters. Its peculiarity is the thickness that is higher than the average and namely 207mm. With this investment the Refinery will upgrade its Hydrocracker unit capacity. The delivery is scheduled to be made at the start of 2019. In the last few days the engineers of ATB Riva Calzoni met with their colleagues of Amec Foster Wheeler at the ATBRC’s headquarters in Roncadelle, Brescia, for the kick-off meeting of the project.
AFW, the engineering company hired by the customer, was recently acquired by Wood Group, a global leader in the technical services to the energy and industrial markets.
Zeeland Refinery's shareholders Total and Lukoil will invest 40 million euros in the recently renewed and expanded hydrocracking unit, the largest in the world. The plant’s improvement makes it possible to have only one shutdown for maintenance every 18 months, instead of once a year and will reduce loss of production and operational costs.
