Beaumont Monteux Reabilitation Project, Hydromechanical Equipment Replacement
ATB Riva Calzoni is performing, in a Joint Venture with Ponticelli Frères, the contract for the Beaumont Monteux dam safety works, near to Châteauneuf-sur-Isère, in France, for EDF- Electricité de France.
The project includes the design, manufacturing, delivery, installation and commissioning of the following hydromechanical equipment:
- N° 6 Stoney-type flood gates, 18.75 m x 9.3 m (w x h)
- N° 6 flap gates mounted on the Stoney-type flood gates, 16 m x 2 m (w x h).
ATB Riva Calzoni is supplying the design, manufacturing and delivery of the hydromechanical equipment, which are being installed and commissioned by Ponticelli Frères.
The operation of Beaumont Monteux hydropower plant has never been stopped: the installation of the Stoney gates and Flap gates has been performed one by one in order to avoid any reservoir drawdown and therefore stoppage of the hydropower plant.
The project is in progress, 5 gates have been installed and are currently in operation, ATB Riva Calzoni is completing the supply of the last one. The completion of the activities is foreseen for December 2024.
