HDS Reactor for Ultra Clean Fuel (UCF) Diesel Euro V
ATB Riva Calzoni recently delivered a new HDS Reactor made of Vanadium modified steel, destined to Rayong Refinery, owned by IRPC Public Company Limited in Thailand. The 450 ton reactor, licensed by Topsoe and manufactured by ATB, seats at the core of the Hydrodesulphurization Unit as part of the Ultra Clean Fuel (UCF) project which aims to improve refining efficiency and upgrade diesel quality in compliance with Euro V standards.
Abbathing structures at Arvedi Acciaieria in Trieste
On September 18 at 20.00 at the former hot area of the Arvedi steelworks in Trieste the felling of the four large -sized concrete structures took place and the chimneys (85 meters high) which were part of the cokeria. The controlled demolition required the use of 300 kg of explosive, 575 detonators and 500 meters of detonating fuse. To reduce the environmental impact of the dust, noise and vibrations Sid srl opted for a single sprint; This has meant that this demolition, today, was the most important in the national territory of its kind.
ATB Riva Calzoni is finalizing the installation of the steel Penstock at Nam Theun 1 Hydropower Project (Laos), 650 MW. The commissioning of the Penstock, with an internal diameter of 10 m and a total length of about 625 m, is planned by the end of 2021. In the footage, a short summary of the main activities carried out at site: from beginning of fabrication until transportation of the last pipe. ATB Riva Calzoni is also supplying the complete package of Hydromechanical Equipment of the dam under construction on a tributary of the Mekong River, Laos.
Workshop for penstock fabrication at Nachtigal Hydropower Project, 420 MW
ATB Riva Calzoni completed the temporary workshop at Nachtigal Hydropower Project (Cameroon), 420 MW. The fabrication of the 5.6 m diameter pipes for Nachtigal HPP penstocks will be completely performed in the temporary workshop, including rolling of the steel plates, automatic welding, quality testing & painting. The 9 m long pipes will be then installed at site to feed the 7 Francis hydro turbines. Nachtigal Hydropower Project will cover 30% of Cameroon’s energy needs, further developing the Country’s sources of renewable energy.
ATB Riva Calzoni commissioned the Bottom Outlet at Nam Theun 1 Hydropower Project (Laos), 650 MW. ATB Riva Calzoni is supplying the 10m diameter steel penstocks and the hydromechanical equipment of the dam under construction on a tributary of Mekong river, Laos.

Workshop for penstock fabrication at Ituango Hydropower Project, 2.480 MW
ATB Group construction site, will manufacture the penstocks for Ituango, the largest hydroelectric plants in Colombia. The design of the hydromechanical components is carried out in Italy, in Brescia, while the manufacturing of equipment for the hydroelectric sector is carried out between Medellín and the construction site not far from the Ituango power plant.

ATB Group Renewables Division - Goglio hydroelectric project
A journey to discover the technologies offered by ATB Group for the renewable energy sector. The Renewables division has manufactured the hydroelectric turbines of the Goglio power plant, in Piedmont, in the province of Verbano Cusio-Ossola. A project commissioned by Enel Green Power and successfully completed.
Artogne Workshop is a new site dedicated to renewable energy. It was designed and equipped to meet the planning and production needs of two sectors: Wind Power and Small Hydro. ATB Riva Calzoni for Alto Maipo hydroelectric project
Since 2017 ATB Riva Calzoni has been established in Alto Maipo, Chile, to work on the construction of penstocks for the three vertical shafts of the Aes Gener hydroelectric plant.

Demolition of disused piezometric towers in Verona steel plant.
ATB Group's Civil Construction & Industrial Services division has successfully completed the second demolition with explosives planned for the Verona area and planned for the demolition of disused piezometric towers. A concrete structure of about 30 meters high which, for the refurbishing of the plants arranged by the owner of the steelworks, the Pittini Group, had to be demolished. The operations, coordinated by the Police Authority, was handled by Sid Srl - Società Italiana Demolizioni, part of Semat Spa, part of ATB Group.

Wind Power - ATB Riva Calzoni Wind Turbine ATB 500.54
The ATB 500.54 and ATB 750.54 are a well proven German wind turbine design with excellent performances documented through several years of field operation. The turbine incorporates state of the art technologies at the forefront of current wind power generation systems. A variable pitch controlled wind turbine with a 54m rotor. The first prototype was installed in 1997, since then over 20MW have been installed and are successfully operating in Germany, Austria and Canada. The turbine is available in 50m or 73m hub heights, its towers are manufactured using the highest quality steel with a durable C5 protective outer coating to ensure a minimum lifespan of 20 years even in the most severe operating conditions.
On April 24th, 2016, loading operation of 1nr 500-ton Hydrotreater reactor in Marghera port of Venice, Italy was completed for the PetroPeru project of Talara, Peru under execution by Messrs Tecnicas Reunidas of Spain. The loading operation was accomplished efficiently within 6 hours.
